Anna's story...

Hailing from Tassie’s North East Anna began her professional career as a teacher, graduating from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Human Movement specialising in education. Her teaching has enabled her to travel the world extensively spending time living and working in the UK and USA. Upon her return to Tasmania, she realised how unique and special Tasmania was, and wanted to share her home with the world, and as such, her passion for tourism marketing, development and sustainability was ignited.

Her tourism career began as the Marketing Coordinator at Tamar River Cruises where she was fortunate enough to learn from the best! She then took this knowledge in to a role with the West Tamar Council as the Tourism and Marketing Officer. It was here that she became the driving force behind the rebranding of the Beaconsfield Mine & Heritage Centre. Her work winning two categories at the Museums Australia Publication and Multimedia Awards in 2009. She was the author of the winning submission for the Heritage and Cultural Tourism Category at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards in 2009. The Heritage Centre continued its success winning three consecutive years and was admitted to the Hall of Fame in 2011.

During her time at the West Tamar Council she was also selected as one of the inaugural industry members of the Launceston Tamar North zone committee, and was a big agitator for regions collaborating for success.  She has also completed projects with Northern Tasmanian Development and the Northern Midlands Council.

More recently she has been growing, nurturing and developing the next generation of Tasmanians, (aka a stay at home Mum)! In her spare time she loves exploring the world’s natural wonders with her husband and three kids, and is happiest when she is on a beach! She is currently undertaking her Graduate Certificate in Tourism Management and is a member of the Cataract Gorge Advisory Committee.
